Due to state legislative action in 2011, effective January 1, 2012, there will be changes to withholding limits for lump-sum payments and to federal minimum wage exemptions for arrears-only withholdings.
Withholding for lump-sum payments will increase from 25% to a maximum of 50% of the net payment after mandatory deductions.
The federal minimum wage exemption is being removed from arrears-only withholdings for Oregon employees. Employers will no longer need to perform the past-due support calculations on arrears-only cases.
The Oregon Child Support Program will mail new withholding orders on all cases to employers and the related parties in January 2012.
